What do your by-laws say?

If your by-laws do not specify how an officer may be removed, then one would certainly hope they contain some clause like "this organization shall be goverened by the latest edition of Roberts Rules, Revised on all items not otherwise addressed in these by-laws."

You do have by-laws, don't you? If so, that is your guide. You are limited in your ability to "make" anybody resign, but you may be able to remove them from office, if necessary.

We are having problems with our new form of leadership in our PTO. We decided to elect teachers as Council and our parents as Co-Council. The problem is the teachers have taken over and they are leaving the Co-council(the Parents) out of any of the meeting they have behind close doors. It is a teacher only meeting for the PTO. We do not know what is to be discussed at the meeting until we get there. Anytime we have a idea it is not even voted on, they just say I don't think that is a good idea. What I need to know is, what kind of legal action can we take to make the teachers resigned? It has become a T.O instead of a P.T.O Any help would be greatly appreciated.
