Our principal is very important to our PTO. We always clear any activities through him, he is on our checking account, and is one of the persons who tally up election votes. I know that when our former board was in office they tried many times to go over his head and do things that he did not want done...since we have taken over the board we work as a team with him and respect his authority over the school, because after all he is the one that is totally responsible for what goes on in his building. That is not to say that we have not had differences of opinion but because we both respect each other it is not a problem. I have seen many posts where the pto's have taken an us aganist them attitude and usually that blows up in their faces...because if the principal does not like what the pto is doing they do have the right to not allow the pto to use the school or send home notes with students and with out these essential tools the pto can not prosper....Teamwork is the key:)

This has probably been covered before(I am new to this forum)but, how much involvement should a principal have with a Home and School Association board? We have gone from little involvement with our previous principal to total involvement with our current one.
