You are going to love this article: How to work with a new principal .
It has lots of great tips on how get off on the right foot with a new principal. Also, have you seen:
How to make the principal your partner ?

Think the key is to go in with an open mind and positive and welcoming attitude. New ideas can be a really good thing.

We have a new Principal starting at the end of this school year as our current Principal is retiring this year. The district has yet to hire someone so we do not know who this person is yet (promoting from in district or someone completely new?)

Do you have any recommendations for how to help promote a smooth transition, as far as the PTO is concerned? My assumption would be the new person would be used to things different than what our school has done (even if in the district), has new ideas, different goals, etc.
