Our PTO is currently creating new bylaws and has hit a snag in regards to the role of the principal. The principal believes he should be a voting member of the Executive Board. I believe the principal should be an advisory member of the PTO, but not a voting member.
I want our principal to be an active member and supporter of the PTO, but I also believe that the principal has sufficient power to influence the PTO and limit certain activities without being a voting member of the executive board.
I would like to hear ideas and experiences from anyone that wants to share--PTO members, teachers, and principals.
