Form 1023 Part V question

Replied by JHB on topic RE: Form 1023 Part V question
Disclaimer: When I filed successfully, it was for the old version of the application. I helped someone with an application last year, but they ended up not submitting it. So this advice isn't based on an application that has been approved. Maybe one of the others who has been thru the new application will chime in.

Hello. I've been reading these boards for the last few months and have already learned so much. I just ordered the PTO StartUp Guide as well.

We are working on our PTO's form 1023. Our state articles of incorporation should hopefully be filed in the next few days. We are waiting on our check :)

I have a question reqarding the compensention question on the 1023. There is no compensation for our PTO. I'm not sure if we should mark no to all boxes, or skip the section. I believe one the questions is if you have documented your compensation policies. If we say "no" that looks like it would be a trouble flag. But there are is no compensation to document. Or does the fact that our bylaws state the we don't compensate our officers show that we do have a documented policy?

I feel like I'm chasing my tail with this question :)

Any advice would be happily taken under advisement.

Thanks in advance
