I agree Service accomplishments would be your programs that enhance and increase stakeholder (Parents, Staff, Students, Community)Particpation and Education (hence Service)- the fundraiser isnt a service to your school its a means to a service (Library Reading programs, Author night, Parent Enrichment classes (internet safety, Homework organization), Family Math, Movie, Science (Educating families while involving them in each others lives), Character Counts program, Math Club, Afterschool Enrichment or Homework/ Mentroing club

Your "programs" are what your PTO does. And the IRS is particularly interested in the programs that tie directly to your stated (and IRS-approved) mission. So while having a very successful fundraiser with a really great awards ceremony might be an accomplishment in the PTO's eyes, you'd be better off focusing on things like a Family Reading Night or even Donuts with Dad. If the form says the information is required, fill something in. Far better to struggle with the wording now than to have to revisit the form when the IRS kicks it out as incomplete.
What do you put in the statement of Program Service Accomplishments on tax form 990-EZ Schedule A? The previous treasurer said it wasn't required, but the instructions say that it is (hasn't been filled out in previous returns).
