Copies of our minutes are put out on the tables before our meeting starts. As people come in they sit and read them. We do not review them, but when we hit the open portion of our meeting members are free to ask questions about anything including the past minutes.
Our minutes are typed up and sent out via email within a week of the meeting. Every voting member recieves a copy and is encouraged to read them prior to the next meeting. They are also posted on our school's website so all members can read them and keep up on what the PTO is doing. At the next meeting I simply ask if anyone has any questions or comments regarding the minutes. Then we either approve as presented or as corrected. The whole thing takes about five minutes of our meeting time.
We don't have our secretary read the minutes we tell parents as everyone is coming in to read them and then we either approve or change at that time on the agenda. We have never had a problem as of yet with this method.

The past couple of meetings that I have attended the minutes from the previous meeting are read and it takes up a ton of time. Are there any rules to doing a quick "recap" or does everything have to be mentioned?
