Our Board has 5 positions including 2 Co-Presidents. We also addressed the case where only 1 person wants to be run for the top spot. In that case, the position is called President and there are only 4 positions that year.
I would be a little concerned about "the more the merrier" attitude. While that might work for 2 people sharing a position, what if you get 3 or more people interested? At some point, it becomes counter-productive.
We are thinking about changing our bylaws, to allow for the possibility of having co-board positions.
For example, in the past we have discussed splitting the VP position into two. Our nominations for next year's board are open and we have two people interested in the VP spot. We are thinking - the more the merrier, and would like to have both of them on the board.
Does anyone have such language in their bylaws? We would like to allow for co-positions, but don't want to require them.
