I've never heard of signing them either but I know it must have the date they were revised & state that they were revised. ( By-laws revised Feb.22,2006) Good luck.
Go back to RONR and sign up to ask the same question on their forum. I have seen an answer as soon as the same day.
I was a Parlmentarian and still like to know this stuff but this one has me stumped. I would ask the pros at that site. Do make sure you add that these are for a school's PTO as I notice a difference in proceedures.
OH YEAH, let us know what they say!! We are also making some major updates, fortunatly I was around when the last time this was done but I never heard of signing anything.
Okay, a few years back a bylaw committee was formed to revamp/update our bylaws. A motion was made at a meeting to accept the changes, I have meeting minutes that a vote was taken and passed on changes, however the drafts were never signed and dated, and only a stamped "draft" copy exists today. I have an undated copy of a sign-in sheet supposedly from those in attendance who may have voted to accept the changes. My question is: Are these bylaws valid without the proper signatures on the bylaws themselves where it is indicated signatures should be, if not valid,do we revert back to the original bylaws and revisit updating them??? very confused on legalities here the RONR website did not have a topic that visited this
