Hi Pat,
I think this will help you to understand the numbers posted on the board. While I can't give you specifics to claims because of privacy issues, I can tell you what type of events these claims came from. We had many claims from inflatable devices and roller skating parties, as well as a lot of miscellaneous accidents from fun runs, field days, after prom parties etc. While none of these went to the "lawsuit" stage, the numbers posted on the advertising piece are real numbers paid under General Liability policies for bodily injury claims. If you notice on the marketing piece, it doesn't refer to lawsuits, specifically for that reason.
The majority of claims that we covered last year were results of accidents occurring at Fall Festivals or Spring Flings, both Carnival type events.
It might be very difficult to find information on "PTO Claims" unless they go to lawsuit status and are reported by news media outlets. I did some looking on the internet as well and found a report on Amusement Ride Related Injuries, that substantiates several injuries occurring at school carnivals...which could or could not have been PTO claims. I have posted that link for your reference here
