There's plenty of help here on the forum if you have a detailed oriented person willing to spend some time on the process.
Meanwhile, it's a tiered approach. You'll have to start your programs, volunteer effort, and fundraisers while you simultaneously work on building the structure of the PTO. It's those other things most want to help with anyway.
Our new school has voted to form a PTO. There is, obviously, no money. There's also no planning in motion yet, because we need to find the exact nuts and bolts.
On here it says the step-by-step process is with NPN, which we plan to join, but can't now with no money, no board, no, well, anything. Kinda the "which came first, the chicken or the egg" deal.
Can anyone shed some light? We're getting the EIN, setting up a committee to formulate constitution and bylaws, and I know to work on Form 1023 (though I have questions about where a PTO falls under).
Any other thoughts from the braintrust??
