Dragonlady,
I have the book and the part you speak of is over 7 pages long - starting on page 293 line 34 called section 35 Rescind; Amend something previously adopted - and ending on page 299 line 26. Basically it says that almost any action can be rescinded (repealed or annulled) or amended (change a part of text or substitute a different version), EXCEPT 1) When it has been moved to reconsider the vote on the main motion, and the question can be reached by calling up a motion to reconsider 2) When something has been done that is impossible to undo or 3) when a resignation has been acted upon, or a person has been elected to or expelled from membership or office and the person was present or has been officially notified of the action.
Hope this helps. The book really is a good investment for any organized group.
does anyone have Roberts Rules of Order Tenth Edition? I went to the website/question and answer forum to ask about my amending approved budget question (posted below). It was suggested I look at Roberts Rules of Order Page 223 about amending something already approved. If anyone has that book and could e-mail me the part that deals with this I would really appreciate it.
