Last night at our PTO meeting we had a member ask to be put on the agenda for the next meeting to make an amendment to the approved budget. Has anyone ever done this before? Can you make amendments to add something else to a budget once its been set? If yes does anyone know if this requires a 2/3 vote or a majority vote? We don't have anything in our bylaws about adding something to the budget after its been approved. What we have always done in the past is just opened up any new requests for funds to the general membership, so they could vote and decide.
We adopted the current budget in July and our next PTO meeting is in January, so we've been working with this budget for a while and already planned our fundraising for the year based on the budget we adopted in July.
