Teacher as President of PTO

We just amended our by-laws yesterday. (Since the once we found must've been typed up by a manual typewriter). If they pass our section on that states that a board member must be a staff member or currently have a child(ren) enrolled in our school. Most of our teachers do have children there. So teachers are qualified to head our PTO, and why not if they are voted in?

Teacher as President of PTO was created by ptohmom
Hi, I am so new to our PTO and learning soo much. I have been doing some research and just put two and two together, wondering if it is legal for a teacher of our school to also be President of our PTO ?

Thanks,
