Yet another bylaws ?

Well, just changing every occurance of "PTA" to "PTO" is a good start. But I'm not sure how you send dues to the state and national PTO

There is nothing wrong with one person drafting a proposed set of bylaws, especially if nobody else in interested in helping. But it does help to have a committee...I know the last time we reviewed our bylaws, I went in to the meeting with some strongly held wrong ideas. In the end, the organization will get to review the proposal, amend it as they see fit, and approve the final product -- so even if there is concern that you will sneak in a rule calling for an annual fundraiser to make your boat payments, there is sufficient opportunity to strike that out.

I'm new here and I'll be our PTO Prez next year. Last year was our first year as PTO. We had been PTA for several years. Last years Pres didn't do anything with the bylaws so we really didn't have any since they were for PTA. I figure the easiest thing to do is take the PTA bylaws and change everything to PTO. Should I assign this to a committee? Should I be involved or just do it and then send it to a committee for their review? Thanks for your help! ;)
