I'm certain that there is nothing in Roberts to prevent you from running. Check your bylaws, but I would be surprised if there was anything in there other than that you must be a member in good standing to be eligible to run.

As long as you meet the criteria, you can run. Resigning an office does not qualify as removing you from good standing, even if it did put you on somebody's list.

Not sure if there are any rules on this, but I say GO FOR IT, especially if you have the support of parents and teachers. It is the students and families you represent and work for, you may catch some backlash, but if it's worth it to you to even consider, you must be the right one for the job. Good Luck

Officer running again after resigning was created by formerviceprez
I was Vice President of our PTO for the 2001-2002 school year. I resigned 3 months ago because of out of control parents that started rumors about another officer and led into gossip and my phone ringing off the hook. I also had a lot of trouble with our President and Co-President. THey have two different personnalities and I was always being told that I was to do nothing they had everything under control. Since then, I have had nothing but teachers and other parents asking me to come back and to run for President for the 2002-2003 school year. I also attending the Cleveland PTO Conference and learned a great deal on how to handle certain parents and situations. I really feel like I can handle anything that is dished out this time. But is there anything in Roberts Rules of Order that our Current President and Co-President can use to keep me from running again? I have looked and can't really find anything. Any Suggestions or comments?
