My guess is it'll stay this way until someone speaks up. Perhaps you could get a group of interested people (to back you up) and voice these concerns to the principal. The organization should have some by-laws to govern these purchases and decisions. I wish you luck, just start in by killing them with kindness, offer to get involved, and don't gossip (that is the worst).
in a new school this year, and there are 8
people who have joined this pto, the do not
activly seek memebers, and usually only the
two of them, one which is the president and
has not been active for this whole year, we
have had only one meeting and commitee meeting
for a parade we particapated in. the chairmen
of the committee for the winter dance call a commitee meeting again only the vp showed up
and was late. they never has shown un the check
book and state that there is 23,000 in this each time, they have elected to fund some the the 5 and 6 grade field trip both have 5th graders
we have yet to see what has been purchase for
the children and have had no discussion on any purchases. they want full controll and make purchases with out any one voting on this items.
the v president in the meeting for the winter dance said she would have final say on who the
dj was which by the way is her nephew and wants
200 dollars for 2 hours. when we said should we shop around she stated it did not matter she and
the president would have final say. have not seen
check book or by laws and they did not hold elections, for these positions.help, help
