Hi...our school is a PTO, I believe that most groups who are not a PTA, make up their own by-laws. I do know that having by-laws are a key factor in running any organization properly, without them, at least in our PTO it would be chaos! They spell out all of the important stuff...duties of officers, term limits, rules concerning audits of money we try to follow our by-laws to the letter so no issue will come back to "bite us in the butt" so to speak. Bravo to you for trying to make a change in your child's school...all the kids will be better off for it:)
I WAS WONDERING - I SEE TOPICS ON PTA VS
PTO - AND TOPICS ON THE BYLAWS FOR PTA VS
PTO - BUT WHAT I REALLY WOULD LIKE TO KNOW
IS IF THERE ARE DIFFERENT BYLAWS FOR BEING
A PTG (PARENT TEACHER GROUP) OUR SCHOOL
WHICH I AM NEW TO HAS ALWAYS BEEN CALLED
A PTG TO MY UNDERSTANDING BUT FROM WHAT I
AM TOLD THERE ARE NO BYLAWS AND THIS IS WHY
I AM WONDERING IF THERE SHOULD BE AND IF THERE ARE BYLAWS THAT REALLY DO EXIST FOR
A PTG. I THANK WHOM EVER IN ADVANCE IF THEY
CAN HELP ME OUT - I AM TRING TO MAKE SOME
CHANGES IN MY CHILDS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL BUT
NEED SOME HELP INORDER TO DO SO. THANKS AGAIN
