Concerned parent-
Yikes- Has anyone expressed concerns to the principal? If you feel like something truly illegal (and have proof) is going on it should be brought to the principal's and district's attention.
Help! Our current PTO is out of control. For starters, the current members have run off so many board members that the board is now out of compliance with the bylaws. Bylaws state there are to be 11 board members and 4 executive board members. There are 3 board members and 4 executive members.
Once this "group" powered up, they "voted" to get rid of a very lucrative fundraiser and replaced it with one that two board members own. They plan to profit from the proceeds of this fundraiser.
Second, they have held funding of needed programs in the school because they want to ear-mark funding their own priorities, which goes against district bylaws and policy.
I have heard that tax-exempt boards must follow bylaws to be considered "legal" and that operating out of a quorum and under bylaw membership status can invalidate tax exempt and can cause issues with "mis-appropriation of funds"... is this true? Are there legal ways to dis-ban this toxic board?
