I depends on what your by-laws state-- we have a clause that you have to have chaired at least 1 event and come to at least 3 pto meetings in order to order- you still have to be elected-- maybe someone will run against her--
obviously she really didn't think things through---when she quit-- you can always form a by-laws committee and revise what you have in order to take these types of actions into consideration when being able to run a second time for a board position- if you form a committee now-- you can make some changes before the end of the year that take effect before elections. Good luck!

I need help, I am the President of our PTO. One of my board members resigned a few weeks ago and made it very clear that it was because she didn't want to work with me. My term of 4 years (as pres) will be up at the end of this year. I just heard that she plans on being President next year. The problems were a power strugle (that doesn't really matter) She quit and walked out on all of us with no notice during the planning of our major fundraiser and that up-sets me.
There is nothing in out Bi-Laws or Standing Rules about this. Does anyone know of a web-site or somewhere I should look to find out if she can be re-elected months after she resigned?
