Interesting situation- Daddio044- Looks like you got some good advice here and at the other forum. Thanks for reposting Jewel! Now I'm very curious-- you'll have to be sure to report back Daddio044 and let us know how the meeting goes ; )

Yep, thinking that will be the plan!

Looks like you already posted there yourself!

It seems like the answer is to "go to the meeting anyway". En masse, preferably.

I posted there too, lol. It's near your post.

Sounds like they can't change the meeting type, but they are anyway. It's an ugly mess right now. I'll probably just attend anyway and not worry about procedure and see what happens.

I cut and pasted your situation/question onto the Q/A forum on the Robert's Rules of Order website. It's a very active site for parliamentarians, so you should have some responses shortly.

The PTO we have at our school follows Roberts Rules. We have a meeting in 2 weeks that was publicized to the school, put on our events calendars and emailed out to members about. There are some major issues in the organization and members have expressed concerns. Now the president is stating it will be an executive board meeting only, not open to members.

Question is, since it was publicized, can it be changed to exclude everyone now and made an executive only meeting? She's basically l pushing off addressing the issues with members by doing so next general meeting is in April - basically when school is about over hence we can't address anything with them).
