I think sharing the work load is pretty common, however an executive board position can not truly be shared.
Since the husband was nominated and won, he holds the position. If he is unable to attend meetings, it should be noted as Not Present. His wife may attend, but not as an executive board member. Nor should she vote. She is there in the same capacity as any other parent, a member of the group. However, if at any time there is vote put to the entire group, absolutely she can vote.
It seems as though if she were the one who would be able to attend, she should have been nominated. He could still do the work behind the scenes.
URGENT ANSWER NEEDED!
We have a husband and wife team who will share one exec board position. The wife will attend the board meetings and the husband will do most of the work. 2 questions:
1) we had placed only the husband's name on the slate and he won (unopposed)....so can we have the wife listed as present for the board meetings in his stead?
2) can the wife and husband vote interchangeably throughout the year, or is is relegated to only the wife if she will be the main person attending the meetings?
Please answer ASAP as we have our big meeting tonight! Thanks..
