Yes, you can use PTO funds to purchase the kit. Just check your by-laws to make sure there is no conflict. If you have you Bylaws complete, make sure to file the proper documents with your state's department of state for a non-profit organization. Once you have filled with you state, make sure to file the proper documents with the IRS to obtain federal tax exemption just go to the IRS website for details. Good Luck!

If you had remained a PTA, this kit would have automatically been sent to your new board.

Our school has always been a PTA. We elected all new board members last year and decided/voted (successfully) to become a PTO. I would love to access the PTO Today Plus membership but at $199. I can not afford out of my own pocket. Does anyone know if I can use my PTA funds to puchase the PTO packages (start-up kits)?
