Hi-
Every group does what they are comfortable and what fits with their budget and objectives. It's a nice idea to "treat" the board in appreciation for all their work. It's also an acceptable use of funds, as long there's agreement on the expenditure. So if it's not in your bylaws then there is no right and wrong way -- it's just a matter of what your group decides.

Does anyone know, if there is an installation dinner, who pays for the E Board volunteers to eat the dinner?
The dinner for both exiting and incoming newly elected E Board members have been previously paid for by the PTO, our by-laws do not address this situation.
I don't want to ask the E Board to pay if this is allowed, but don't know as its not been written or discussed in the By-Laws. The other E Board members say they agree that the PTO should pay for the installation dinner.
