We are a new PTO group from a very small school. Several of our parents are also school employees. We are just writing our bylaws so do not yet have that guidance. We are going to nominate 2 parents for the teacher hiring board. A group of parents wants to first have a vote whether or not school employees can be nominated to be the parent representative. The officers are concerned that this is just a bad idea in general but also that it may be against FERPA laws or some other guideline. Any advice appreciated.
