By Laws Broken...

I will try to be short, but there is a lot involved here. I am the president of a new PTO with a board that contains members who are for lack a better term " a clique ". Often times this group has made it impossible for us to be effective as a group and they spend more time back biting than they do actually being productive for our school.

Recently, the treasurer called a meeting of all the board members (expect me, the president) and tried to have a meeting with the Principal of our school to discuss budget overages in a particular area. Again, I was never asked to attend this meeting. When the Principal asked where I was she was told that I was busy and could not make it... a total misrepresenation of the truth.

First of all, I believe, that the treasurer should report all budgetary issues to the President, is this correct? Secondly, after reviewing our bylaws it clearly states the following:
- The president is responsbile for calling all general and executive board meetings
- A majority of the executive board can call a special meeting as long as proper notice is
given and made public.

Neither of the rules were followed. What can I do as the president to restore order to our board, enforce the bylaws and get back to being productive for our school?
