We did a movie night last year for the first time. I would suggest that you call it a "Family movie night", and only allow kids with their parents. We did not do that, and had kids running around all over the place (our fault for not thinking of that sooner). We had to stop the movie halfway through and tell everyone to sit down, etc. Also, make sure you have enought adults to supervise the washrooms. We had junior high kids hanging around in there, and had to constantly monitor them. I'm sure it would have been much better if all children had a parent or guardian with them.
Hope that helps!
you should check with your school district first-- they might purchase a year ong license for showing movies in the classroom, and depending on how you are linked with the school, you can show the movie under their license.
Anyone holding a "public performance" of a movie (whether you sell tickets or not) needs to get a license to do so. The good ews is that complete details (and a discount on the license fee) are available through our Family Movie Night program.
I was wondering if anyone has ever had a movie night, and what would you have to do to show a movie like "Finding Nemo or Toy Story",Do you have to get permission from Disney or is their a movie infringement rights letter that needs to be signed, would appreciate any help.
