I'm looking to see about a license for my website and that is how I came apon this.

In less than a month their will be a website to post music, but it will be much much more than that ,the site will be Youknewmusic.com,please come see me ,if you like send me an email and I will let you know your other options ,but i can assure you mine wil be the best choice.

I'm not 100% positive, but I think you will need to contact ASCAP, the American society of Composers, Authors and Publishers.

I checked around their site a bit and found what I think would be the application to put music on a website. It's more detailed than the app for
501(c)3 status! Don't be discouraged though, I may be wrong about the application.
Also, this may be cost prohibitive. I couldn't find anything concrete but from the bits and pieces, I think you're talking a grand for a one year license.

Our PTO has purchased a moive license to show moives at school. Is there anything simular for music? We plan to post videos on the web that we have attached music to. Thanks -
