You define your fiscal year, if different from the calendar year, on the tax forms. Forms are due to the IRS and/or State authorities a defined number of months from the end of the fiscal year. Our fiscal year ends June 30.
Does anyone know if the year ends on June 30 or is that the day that we need to have the taxes filed by? I don't know if we all run on the same calendar or not as far as the government goes, but I figured I give it a shot.
