Hi,
I am in Massachusetts and we had our playground done last year. It is done by the Verizon Pioneers I guess they are the retirees that do this. They are wonderful. They will assit you but they like you to have some school volunteers to help out as well.We had the Map and got the solar system last year. They are quite generous. I am not sure how to contact them maybe try and google or check out Verizon web site. Good Luck!

Our principal came up to me all excited saying that they got stencils for the playground and wouldn't it be a great idea for the PTO to get together and paint them for the school??

Wasn't sure how to respond to that. Sounds like a big project to me.

We haven't used them by two other schools in my town have. I think they just started with the general 800 number and were transferred from there. I will email them to see if they still have the info and post it here. I'm just not sure how long it will take for them to get back to me.

WFS - Do you have a contact number for the Verizon Community Service department or is it just the general #?

Verizon has the map stencils and will have their employees come and do it for you. Its part of their community service campaign.
We are doing the same (not the map) with the games on our new blacktop and our local boy scouts are doing the work. They will be earning badges for the skill needed as well as for community service.

A couple of years ago when my kids were playing soccer at an elementary school in Springfield, MA, I noticed the school had the USA map on the playground, I thought it was really cool. I have no idea how old it is, or if there was a stencil, but you could try the City of Springfield MA school dept- maybe they would know? I am sorry I have NO idea where in Springfield the school was or what the name was- we were visiting from out of town.
