Debbie Ball Odeh,
I am bit late to the party and don't know if you are still concidering moving to NJ.
If that is still the plan, I have some questions. When you say 'Linden area', what do you mean... Kenilworth, Elizabeth, Cranford, Rahway, Woodbridge, Islin, all these towns are in the Linden area but are very very different in their town culture. Linden is a lower middle class town, lots of industry and jobs, low taxes, small homes and lots, huge schoool system. I have many friends who grew up there but what it was 20 years ago is quite different than today. Linden has a large Polish presence, which means lots of churches and bars on every corner. No slight to Polish people, as my last name ends in 'ski', just the way it is. Elizabeth is more of a city, Cranford is more suburban, Kenilworth is smaller and a bit more run down. Rahway is a in the middle and Islin, Edison and Woodbridge are very densely populated, lots of townhomes.
Hope some of this helps.
