Where I am (in MA) we have cultural arts councils where all the different PTO's meet and share reviews on perofrmers and stuff. it's been very helpful to help us figure out which performers are good and which aren't.
Mykidsmom-you say your school qualifies for corporate sponsorship and scholarships;how does one do that?Is your school an elementary or higher level?I'm new to all of this and am doing the fundraising this year, but our Assembly chairperson is not only new to the PTA,he isn't yet fluent in English,so I've tried to help him out as much as I can,and this sounds really interesting.Every dollar we save in one place can be spent somewhere else.
We have had great luck with the local museum, they not only offer great assemblies but we have always qualified for scholarships and corporate sponsorship (we brought $750 worth of classes but paid $150!) They have always had something for every grade!
We also found programs through our local law enforcment office that have been fun for the kids!
How do you find good assemblies? Our teachers have expressed an interest in the PTO funding them, but I don't know where to start. Any websites would be appreciated!
