Mad Science is very popular in our area for birthday parties, camps, special events, etc. Typically, they do a one hour program (about 100 different science topics to choose) for a group of up to 20 kids. It's very fun, interactive, and there's always a hands-on activity that the kids make and keep (slime, periscope, twister in bottle, superball, etc.) They also have presentations geared for large groups/assemblies.
We are bringing in their afterschool program this Spring. For that, they basically do all the work. They send flyers home to the parents, who register and pay directly with Mad Science. The program is 1 hour once a week for 6 weeks right after school. I think it costs about $60 per child. They need at least 15 kids to run a progam.
In exchange for the school allowing them to do this and use a classroom, the school gets an assembly presentation and the teacher whose classroom is borrowed gets a program for her class.
Their programs are great - but not cheap. I've had them in for birthday parties, and I arranged for a Mad Science party for each of my kids'classes in November. In each case, it was for a group of about 20 kids. The fee was $120 per party "plus whatever gratuity you think is appropriate". But they really are educational and the kids love them.
okay what am I doing wrong- i went to madscience.com and all i get is a huge black screen with nothing on it.. Are they still around???? does anyone have any info on htis group????
