Hi Heather,
Just wanted to let you know that I posted this question on our Facebook page . A big thanks to everyone who jumped in with ideas over there and here on the message boards!

Let us know what you end of doing, Heather. And we always LOVE it when folks share event photos on our Facebook page. Best of luck with your event!

Classrooms at our school can win popcorn parties for:
Most total laps (K-2 division, 3-6 division)
Most total donations/fundraising dollars (K-2 division, 3-6 division)
Our mascot also shows up at such assemblies...
We hire a DJ for our jog-a-thon event... so the kids get to listen to music as they run... that's a big treat!
We also do a prize raffle... top 10 fundraising kids get to pick any prize from the lot, but you could also do top 10 # of laps... and then the rest of the kids who bring in anything (even just $1) get entered by raffle ticket and drawn until prizes are gone.
Good luck!

We are doing one also. The kids really just want to know the prizes, that will get them excited! One of hte prizes we've done in the past the kids loved was a drawing for them to win signed soccer, football and volleyballs from teh varsity teams at our school. It's even cooler if some of the players can present it to them in their uniforms.

One of our other schools also does a Limo Lunch for kids that earn a certain amount...$200 I think. They take a limo to McDonald's to eat lunch and then cruise around.
