Bullyproofing seminar as a fundraiser

14 years 1 month ago #154902 by Rockne
Hi TLH -

I haven't attended one, but do have a bit of feedback.

This doesn't strike me as a good fundraiser. Why a fundraiser?

On the other hand, this topic as a parent education event or a family education event or as a speaker at a PTO or PTA meeting seems like a great fit. I just can't see charging parents to attend.

As a business, I'd think getting the chance to talk infront of a big group of potential customers would be a nice opportunity.

So I'd have a really good presentation put together and then offer to make the presentatioon for free to interested schools and parent groups. Your upside would be the reputation lift and connections you make.

I am a new employee at a Martial Arts studio. They have previously done seminars in schools for bullyproofing your child.

I would like to know if anyone has ever attended one of these classes and what was expected and what was actually taught.

These seminars have been PTO driven with our material and flyers. PTO's set up the date and time..took a small fee for the class and kept all the funds raised.

Has anyone ever done this as an assembly instead of seminar/classs?
