Principal's Reading Challenge

10 years 1 month ago #166303 by vloglady
On Friday, Sept 12 I sat in a giant tub of spaghetti while kids "gently tossed" pasta at me. They read 6,323 books. If someone can tell me how to post a picture, I'll post one. thanks.

Hi Susan,
I would say you are a good sport!

Take a look through some of the stories submitted for our Celebrate the Principal Difference contest, which we have been running this year with AFRDS. You might find some fun ideas!

Here's the link: www.ptotoday.com/celebrate

Good luck,

Rose C.

Hi again. susan from NY.

Okay, last September, I read a story to an alligator named Wally. She was 18 years old. I read, "There's an Alligator Under My Bed" by Mercer Mayer. Wally was so excited she peed on the carpet.

I'm desperate to find a stunt for this year. No worms or roaches.
I'm thinking of sitting in spaghetti. Kids can each bring a little baggie to help fill the baby pool.

any ideas? I read the article, I've done just about everything.

Sat in Jello with purple hair
Read a story to a bunny in my pajamas
gotten sprayed with Silly String
Gotten slimed
Did the chicken dance
kissed a frog and turned into a princess
Held a 105 pound 14 foot Burmese python named Twinkie
Read a story to an Alligator named Wally who peed on the carpet.

Ideas!!!!! thanks.

Two years ago, our principal built an igloo in the school yard and slept in it for 4 nights! We had set book goals for the students (for every 1,000 books the kids read, the principal would sleep in the igloo for a night) We have a tiny school of 140 students and they managed to read over 4,000 books! Another piece of important information is we live in Manitoba...our average temperature in February is -23 degrees Celsius. It was quite chilly for the principal! The kids loved it!

This year I hugged a snake. Her name was Twinkie and she was an Albino Burmese Python, weight 105 pounds, 14 feet long. I can't figure out how to post a picture. Let me know.
