Question: Allow students to speak at a pto general q&a time?
Our general pto meetings are during school hours. We had a student request to speak at our meeting. We don't know what the topic is, but we suspect it's a controversial topic that the PTO has no decision making ability in. We have open meetings regardless of membership status, but we are uncertain whether a student (who should be in school at the time) should be allowed to speak. We don't want to say no to a student, but also don't want to have a discussion on something the PTO has no official role in deciding. Should we endorse he address the school board instead?
