Question: How involved should PTO be??

Our school district has decided that only parents on PTO are allowed to participate at school events held during school hours. The PTO (roughly 4 moms) are the only ones allowed on field trips, sport day, school assembly's, classroom party's, Halloween party, Christmas party's and any other event held during the school day. Do you think this is ok?

Is the district saying only "the PTO" or is it saying just you four moms. In other words, if you increased the ranks of the PTO, would more be able to participate? This may be an issue of background checks and screening volunteers.
