Question: My-PTA.org
We are in the process of creating and maintaining our own PTA website. We are looking into a few free hosts and really like the set up of my-pta.org. We would like to use their ecommerce option but, would like input from others it before providing them with any type of financial information or allowing our parents to use their CCs on the site. Are they legitimate and secure? What are your experiences, or do you have any other suggestions for setting up a way for parents to make purchases in the site?

It's not a free option, but they give your parents and community the opportunity to sponsor your website with an Ad which easily covers the cost and then some. They don't keep any of your Ad money. The person can even set up their Ad online themselves. Then you can approve (or not) the Ad when they submit it. Personally, I like the website layout of MyVLink better than My-PTA. I can't speak to the Admin side of My-PTA since I've never used it, but ours is very simple to use.

One other suggestion is to post your question on our new Facebook group, PTO & PTA Leaders. It's a closed group, so you need to request to join and I'd approve immediately! Recommending it because there are many active and super helpful members in that group. They're PTO and PTA leaders, so they can offer great advice.
