Question: Spending PTO Money
We are a pledge school and do not ask parents to fund raise, instead each family pays a pledge. We also earn money from our silent auction. We plan on doing a survey monkey to get an idea of how our parents want their money spent. We feel it is not the sole purpose of the PTO to provide curriculum and technology for school. These are expenses the district should be funding. How much are other PTO's/PTA's spending on curriculum and technology?

Our group is not allowed to buy technology for the school - teachers can't even bring in their own ipads to use in the classroom, so I impressed that you have any say in curriculum and technology. Obviously, we spend $0 on that, but I can't say that the district is great about funding either. Some of our teachers are thrilled to just now be getting projectors for their rooms. Projectors. Not white boards, not tablets, not anything past 1980 technology. Maybe if we were allowed to purchase such items our teachers would have more up-to-date technology. Good luck!
