Craig writes:Inclusion as an educational practice isn't something we really address. We focus on the importance of parents getting involved in their children's education vs. the actual form and content of that education. We believe that parent groups should do everything they can to make their activities available to students of all abilities, and we certainly support the idea of special needs parent groups -- we've seen them do some great things in many districts.
We talked to our friends at the Northeast and Islands Regional Education Laboratory, an educational research organization funded by the U.S. Department of Education. They provided this link to helpful research findings on inclusion. (It's a pdf.) You'll see that the initial paragraph refers to class size, but there are several different links to more general information. We hope it helps!
