Question: PTO POPCORN BI-WEEKLY FUNDRAISER
OUR SCHOOL SELLS POPCORN, PICKLES AND CAPRI SUN EVERY OTHER WEEK AT THE SCHOOL AS A WAY TO RAISE FUNDS. THE COST FOR ALL SUPPLIES COMES DIRECTLY OUT OF PTO FUNDS. DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY HELPFUL TIPS ON HOW TO OBTAIN DONATIONS OR DISCOUNTS FOR THIS TYPE OF FUNDRAISING?

Advice from PTO Today
Craig writes:Have you approached your local grocery store? It's possible that they would sell items to you at cost or a significant discount. One key in approaching sponsors is to have something to offer in return for their donation. Can you put a prominent thank you in your newsletter? (Good) And include their logo? (Better) Have a "sponsored by" sign placed prominently where the sale is taking place? It's important to have a plan in place before you solicit a donation -- it doesn't guarantee success, but it helps.
