Question: Principal disbaned PTO

Our Princiapl has informed us that she is going to disband our PTO and district stated that she is within her right to do so. What are our rights as a PTO and what resources can we utilize to save our organization?

If you are a "IRS recognized nonprofit", a principal cannot disband your organization- but he can stop your group from functioning on his/her school campus. With enough parent email contacts, I suppose you could continue as a parent group off-campus but it would be extremely difficult to be an effective PTO without the support of the school's administration.
