How do we get a tax id number without using someones social sceurity number

It's a simple, quick process. Just go to www.irs.gov and fill out form SS-4 for an Employer Identification Number (EIN). Do it online, and they'll issue your number on the spot.

It is not as quick and easy a process as previously noted. It is very easy to get the EIN number, but once you do so you only have 24 months according to the IRS to complete other paperwork that shows you are a tax exempt organiztaion and to start filing post cards for taxes yearly.
