Typically, no. If you want a teacher to fill one of those positions, you should specify it in your bylaws. It's much more common to have a teacher representative who acts as your liaison with teachers. That person usually isn't a voting board member; she's someone you rely on to help you communicate with teachers and to represent the teachers' views/needs at your meetings. But it's not strictly necessary to have any teacher representation at all, and many groups don't. In that case, you will need to make a special effort to communicate with and reach out to teachers on your own.
