We shot the video on iPhones, Flip and Bloggie digital camcorders. Then, using a program like iMovie, we synced it with the voice recording, which was done using
Garage band. We stored in the cloud so as to be able to collaborate and not have it all on one computer. Google docs worked well for that.
I have a technical question -- how did you actually put it together? Music playing while you taped them singing along to it? And did you give them just one "take" and hope for the best? Thank goodness we've got 1.5 years till our next auction, because we have got to do something like this!
I am so impressed -- love this! And imagine if you intentionally chose kids whose parents would be at your auction. This is on my must do list for our next auction, thankfully it's a year and a half away!
I would suggest you tweak the lyrics at least somewhat, so that you don't run the risk of people having seen it already. Also, Call Me Maybe was still super current when we did ours. When is your event? It's not as hard as you'd think to stay on top of the next trend, but if your event is more than a month or so away, this may not even be current enough.
Feel free to use the idea though. But then, use your own lyrics if so. It's easier than you'd think...
This is great! Fantastic job! My question is can we borrow your lyrics? Don't want to steal your idea completely, but well, yes I do! May I have your permission to use your idea with our own school kids? Thanks!
