The Kiwanis club comes to our school and does a no-cost assembly. They do two different ones - BUG (Bringing up grades) and Terrific Kids (based on criteria - maintaining grades, behavior, citizenship). They give the kids certificates and pencils. It's very nice.
DDD--look under the involvements thread. If it isn't listed on the right side, click on the left larger category side of "Involvements" and scroll down to the "slogans for the colts". If a post isn't made in a while the thread will get pushed down on the larger category thread. Does that make sense. If not email me at This email address is being protected from spambots. At our school we weren't going to spend any money or anything but we did want to put the Honor Roll List in our school newsletter. Our principal said that we couldn't do this because we would get a lot of griping about it. I have a problem with that because we mention things like Youth Football won the Superbowl and stuff like that. Why not academic excellence? Some kids are never going to be athletes and this is the only way that they can be noticed.
I am looking for some help from dlf, but can't figure out how to create a new message directly to them. I am on a PTO with a "colts" mascot. I noticed in some recent threads, you were very creative with slogans for various schools. I am in need of a parental involvement:) slogan for our school. Can you help. I am creative, not.
Well that's a little different ... I've only ever seen the honor roll be academically oriented. If it is something that recognizes folks of all capabilities and excellence then I would be more apt to support it. Have fun...sound like a very progressive idea....d
