How about a relay race. Have the kids in groups and they have to race to a dish filled with CandyCane Kisses, put on mittens, unwrap one piece of candy, remove the mittens and tag the next player. The first team to unwrap all the candy wins...and they can eat the candy as they unwrap them. We did this with adults at work and it was real fun!
The actual game "Don't Break the Ice" is a good one for kids to play; you can purchase 2-3 fairly cheap at Wal-Mart...sit them on tables for the kids to take turns playing. Easy puzzles with winter scenes work good too.
Cotton Balls make nice snowballs for relay games...wearing gloves makes the relay game harder.
Snowman freeze dance: play music while the kids dance, stop the music and the kids freeze in place like a snowman, if they keep dancing then they are out (a melted snowman must sit/lay on the floor), the rest of the kids keep playing the freeze dance game over and over again till only a few kids are left.
Snowman wrap game: use toilet paper for the kids to wrap another kid to look like a snowman (works best for older kids).
Indoor Ski Team Rescue Relay - For each set of ski's, get (2) six foot long 4x4's and (3) pieces or heavy duty rope 5-6 feet long.
Lay the 4x4's in parallel. In each 4x4, drill 3 holes, the same size as the diameter of the rope, starting 4 inches from one end of the 4x4, repeating the hole every two feet. Use a larger drill bit to enlarge the bottom of each hole 1 inch deep to allow room for a knot. Thread the end of each piece of rope into a hole on each of the two ski's and tie a tight knot close to the end. Make two or more set of ski's.
3 students stand on top holding the rope and have to move their ski's forward down the slope(across the floor), to rescue a 4th team member from the "home work" cliff they are about to fall off. Distance is TBD by age.
You might want to put something on the bottom of the ski's to keep from scuffing up the floor.
