to shoover: I wouldn't bother contacting RadioDisney...the HSM stuff is available everywhere including Walmart and the party stores! It would cost money, but I make up for the purchases by selling raffle tickets for the items...even those being used as decorations. Also, have kids wear HSM gear, have DJ play HSM songs...turn refreshments into HSM themed stuff like Troy's Lemonade or Wildcat Punch, etc lol
We did a family movie night at the beginning of the year and showed High School Musical. We had the local High School Dance Team come and perform a dance number from the movie and then they taught the dance steps to the audience. Everyone was up and dancing. It was a great event and helped to promote our PTA Membership Theme this year "We're All In This Together" (a song from High School Musical). Everything had a "team spirit" theme -- pom poms, etc. We sold pizza and drinks beforehand...but you could do hot dogs, popcorn, red vines, etc.
You could try contacting the local radio Disney and see if they would be willing to provide you with a handful of the High School Musical 2 posters. We had them come to our back to school event and they handed these out. I asked and they gave me about a hundred, which I plan to use as prizes for our upcoming Harvest Hoopla.
Hopefully we'll get some replies. I was going to do a HSM 2 movie night, but now I decided to let the kids vote. I read on this site that you get a better turn out when they vote. I'm going to let them choose from HSM 2, Shrek the Third, Ratatouille and ET. ET is the dark horse as most kids might not be familiar. I thought I'd write up synopsis' of them and see what happens. Kids might not know it, but their parents sure will! We'll see what wins. (I'm rooting for HSM 2 though). I should just pick, but now that I have it in my head I should let the kids vote, I just can't go back on that! Darn conscience. haha
