Here is a link to get information about obtaining a movie license. Movie Licensing USA

We used this company at two different schools. They were for one time use.

Has anyone asked their local movie theater to see if they would have a designated night for their school? A certain percentage could go to the PTO?
And also give a certain rate for popcorn and pop? This means that we wouldn't need many volunteers which is very difficult in our school sometimes. Just wanted to put that out there...

How much is the license? Do you get a one-time license or an annual one? Thanks!

Here is another good idea.. Have a Video swap! Ask the kids to donate any unwanted tapes or DVD's (we all have a ton) and set up a table at the movie night with a PTO VIDEO STORE sign. you can charge $1 per video. This was a good way to earn a little money, and the kids and parents love it!

Good Luck

We do a holiday kick off after Thanksgiving where we do "Dinner and a Movie". It is in our gym...pillows and blankets...pjs and then a lunch bag with a hot dog, chips and juice box for 2 dollars. Popcorn is 50 cents...Last year we showed Polar Express. That may become the traditional movie...not sure....d
